01

The service

RIP MY BUILD is a digital publishing service for abandoned projects. Customers can buy a public project obituary, prepare a funeral invitation in their email app, and visitors can buy digital roses or plot adornments for published memorials. A memorial may link to the former project and to the founder’s current business.

These Terms govern the website, memorials and related purchases (together, the “Service”). By using the Service or making a purchase, you agree to them.

02

Who may use it

You must be able to form a binding contract where you live. If you use the Service for a company or another person, you confirm that you are authorized to act for them.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit personal information about a child.

03

Orders and payment

Memorials, roses and adornments are one-time digital purchases; they are not subscriptions. The displayed price and any applicable taxes are shown before payment.

Checkout is provided by Polar Software, Inc., which acts as merchant of record for the transaction. Polar processes payment, tax, invoices, receipts, disputes and approved refunds under its buyer terms and privacy policy. RIP MY BUILD does not receive or store your full card number.

04

Public memorials

A purchased obituary is intentionally public. Project names, maker names or pseudonyms, dates, build hours, epitaphs, causes of death, lessons, URLs, roses and adornments may be visible to anyone and indexed or shared by others.

Only submit information you are comfortable publishing. Do not include confidential information, private contact details or another person’s personal data without a lawful basis and their permission where required.

05

Your content and license

You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant RIP MY BUILD a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, display, distribute and create technical adaptations of that content as needed to operate, secure and promote the Service.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit the content and links, and that publication will not violate another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity or contractual rights.

06

Ground rules

Do not use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory or sexually exploitative content; impersonation; doxxing; malware; spam; infringement; or links that unexpectedly redirect visitors to harmful or unrelated destinations.

Only add people to a funeral invitation when you are permitted to contact them. The invitation is prepared as a private BCC draft in your email app; you are responsible for reviewing its recipients and content before sending it.

Humor is welcome. Abuse is not. We may reject, hide, edit for formatting, unlink or remove content that violates these rules or creates legal, security or operational risk.

07

Longevity and availability

“Permanent” describes our product intention: a long-lived public memorial without a recurring hosting charge to the customer. It is not a guarantee that the Service, a particular URL or any third-party destination will exist forever.

We may maintain, change, suspend or discontinue features. We are not responsible for the content, availability, security or privacy practices of projects and new businesses linked from memorials.

08

Corrections and removal

To request a correction, unlinking or removal, email hello@ripmybuild.com with the memorial URL and enough information for us to verify your relationship to it. We may preserve transaction, fraud-prevention or legal records after public content is removed.

09

Refunds

Our Refund Policy is part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.

10

Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted access, particular traffic, search ranking, sales, referrals or business results from a memorial or successor link.

We do not endorse user-submitted claims or linked businesses. You are responsible for evaluating outbound links and for keeping copies of content important to you.

11

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RIP MY BUILD will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or lost-profit damages arising from the Service. Our total liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid to RIP MY BUILD for the purchase giving rise to that claim.

These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer protections.

12

Changes and disputes

We may update these Terms when the Service or law changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise.

Applicable law determines jurisdiction and governing law. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring a claim in the courts available to them under applicable law. Contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

13

Operator and contact

The Service is operated under the name RIP MY BUILD. Legal, support and content notices may be sent to hello@ripmybuild.com.

We would rather resolve a problem clearly than bury it in fine print.
